Can I get financial aid while participating in Camp Adventure?

You may become eligible for federal financial aid from your home institution by entering into a financial aid consortium agreement with the University of Northern Iowa.  We are able to enter into a consortium agreement related to federal financial aid processing if the following criteria are met:

  • You are not a UNI student.  UNI will not provide financial aid to UNI students for the Camp Adventure credits.
  • The courses have been reviewed and approved by your advisor as an acceptable component of your degree-seeking program. (Course descriptions below, full coursework booklet available upon request)
  • The financial aid consortium agreement needs be initiated by your advisor or financial aid representative. (Stock forms are acceptable if they meet our criteria)
  • The consortium agreement must list your current university as the 'home' institution, and UNI as the 'host' institution.
  • The agreement specifies that UNI will not disburse any financial aid to the student. All financial aid must be disbursed by your home institution.
  • The consortium agreement must be given to Camp Adventure headquarters staff rather than your trainer. The agreement should be submitted as a PDF via email to lekara@uni.edu.

Once you submit the consortium agreement to us we will list the applicable fees for your program and turn the form over to a UNI financial aid representative. The UNI financial aid representative may need contact information for the financial aid representative from your university to finalize the agreement.  Please have that information available.

If you do not meet these criteria you will not be eligible for federal financial aid while you participate in the program. You are eligible to apply for private student loans.
